PREFAB FRIDAY: Tsubomi

Glass house meets prefab sophistication in this upscale version of the modern shed by Tsubomi. The creators of Tsubomi have dubbed their structure the “aluminum space packaging system,” which speaks to the lightness and modularity of the design.

Glass and aluminum guard against the elements while maintaining a constant connection to the outdoors. But for those who like to throw stones, panels are available in an assortment of non-transluscent materials including lumber.

Tsubomi is light enough for easy assembly, strong enough to build upwards of three stories, and all of the materials are 100% recyclable. If you’ve ever wondered what life is like in a glass house, Tsubomi is a small-scale way to find out.

Interesting “fishbowl”. In the right place “the fish” become the observer and everything within sight become the bowl. It’s something to build on, a circle perhaps.

What are the insulation qualities of that building ?

What do you mean by three storeys ? you can put three of these cubes on top of each other and it still holds ?

We’re lovin’ prefab Fridays. You’ve had some great features that have gotten us talking amongst ourselves. We cover a lot of Frank Lloyd Wright’s work on our site and it’s great to see his initial ideas about prefab, being used in relevant ways today. Keep up the great posts!

Only problem is that you gotta keep this place neat and pretty at all times. Otherwise, it won’t look good from the outside, no matter how clean-cut the structure is.

Wonderful stuff. Cool and very eco. Needs moderate climate though. Good for additions, perfect for back yard extensions. Love it.

I love the concept. I have been trying to reach them for the last Mth with out success.
The only answer I got was in Japanesse!
If you have a way to reach them in English French or Sanish
